Company Introduction
2023 MUSE DESIGN AWARD
2024 IF DESIGN AWARD
1. Meaning of Duancha
Duancha comes from the last two words of「茶之頂端,成其端茶」, which translates to “the pinnacle of teas maketh Duancha”, on a literal level Duancha can also mean to serve tea.

2. Origin of Duancha
The largest place of production for tea in Taiwan is Nantou County, which is the cradle of Duancha.
Our tea makers and apprentices have lived in the tea production area of Nantou County for over half a century, and the majority of them are local residents, as such we are extremely familiar with the terroir, hydrology and culture of this tea production area.

Starting out from the earliest Dong Ding Oolong Tea, we began to branch out and develop towards high altitude mountain tea production areas such as Shanlinxi, Alishan and Lishan et cetera.

Within the company, multiple partners began to invest in tea production one after another, allowing us to grasp the ecology of tea production areas extensively, and through this uninterrupted passing on of technological legacy, we are proud to be able to cultivate Taiwanese specialty tea treasured by all tea lovers today.

We attained the Grand Prize of Lugu Township Farmers Association Premium Dong Ding Oolong Tea Winter Competition, which is the highest award in the world’s largest Oolong tea tasting tournament. This is a fierce competition involving thousands of tea farmers and only one will be awarded, as such, most farmers view this prize as the ultimate accolade of tea agriculture and Duancha is proud to say that we have been recognized on the highest level.

Duancha cooperates with influential tea farms from Taiwan’s mountain tea areas including Lishan, Shanlinxi, Alishan and Yuchi Township (Nantou County), which produces a variety of black tea and one of them being world’s unique aroma – Taiwan Tea No. 18 Ruby Black Tea.

These associates have inhabited in the local areas for a substantial amount of time, investing time in the tea business since young and hence providing tea leaves of the best quality to Duancha.

With our strong and lengthy bond with our associates for over two generations, we are constantly exchanging skills and information regarding the tea industry, which is exactly the reason the tea leaves we produce can continuously retain the highest quality for decades.
