For several years, she continued to use ceramics to make jewelry, and then she thought of designing and making ceramic figurines. Muriel's fiancee Tom George returned home after the war and couldn't find a job, so he focused on making molds of Joseph's models to help his wife do business. The two are married and began producing ceramic figures called Josef Originals in 1946. The spelling of the name was originally "Joseph", but the printer made a mistake on the first set of labels ordered. Since it was too late to reprint the label, this error produced the name "Josef Originnals". By the mid-1950s, works imitating "Joseph Original" began to appear in the United States from Japan. To this end, Muriel created higher-quality ceramics. Unfortunately, due to the even higher prices of these high-quality ceramics, the company continues to lose profits due to Japanese imports. Before things got too bad, a businessman named George Good stepped in and persuaded the couple to start producing Joseph's originals in Japan to maintain a competitive advantage. In 1959, they established the Katayama factory in Japan and began personal training for workers to ensure that the quality of Josef Originals remains at a high level. This helped to establish the 1960s and 1970s as very prosperous decades for the company. Muriel continued to be active in Josef Originals for more than two decades. Design owls, dogs, elephants and other cute animals, as well as some more famous doll series. Joseph's original birthday doll series began in the mid to late 1940s. Muriel Joseph George designed these creative statues to express his love for children.
