Its colors are incredibly diverse, displaying different hues from various angles. Each piece of opal is unique, making it highly collectible. Opals come in various types, including black opal, white opal (crystal opal), fire opal, and boulder opal. Opal is composed of microscopic silica spheres. These spherical structures are not visible to the naked eye and can only be seen under an electron microscope. The color variations are caused by a combination of diffraction and interference—it's a bit complex, but essentially, light plays hide-and-seek with the gaps between these spheres! **Opal Care & Storage** If you have purchased a natural gemstone such as opal or pearl, please be especially mindful to avoid environments that are too humid or experience extreme temperature fluctuations. Both temperature and humidity can accelerate the decomposition or oxidation of organic gemstones. Due to their hardness and formation, please also avoid hot springs and hot baths, as well as products containing cleaning agents. Opal is a delicate gemstone that actually requires a bit of moisture to maintain its beauty. Therefore, a desiccant is not included in the storage pouch. Of course, like other gemstones, it should not be worn while bathing or visiting hot springs. Do not use a silver polishing cloth to clean opals; instead, use a clean, dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth. We will include a jewelry polishing cloth. After wearing, gently wipe the ring clean and store it in the gemstone pouch. For all natural gemstone and metal jewelry, it is not recommended to wear them while bathing or visiting hot springs, as chemicals can cause adverse reactions. Avoid direct contact with perfumes, bleach, and please do not store jewelry in bathrooms or kitchens, as this can accelerate oxidation. For sterling silver or gold-plated jewelry, when not being worn, try to isolate it from moisture and air. Wipe clean with a dry cloth or the provided polishing cloth, then store in a PVC resealable bag.
