When we wear gemstones, we resonate with their energy. Therefore, __regular purification of gemstones is very important__. It is recommended to develop a habit of purifying your gemstones regularly, for instance, on the 1st of each month or during the full moon (the 15th of the lunar calendar). There are many methods for purifying gemstones, with detailed explanations available in books and online. Perhaps the most commonly mentioned purification method is soaking in saltwater. However, some gemstones and metals are quite delicate and can be damaged by salt or water, so Joyce personally does not highly recommend this method. If you have white/amethyst rough stones, a geode, or a cluster, you can place your gemstones directly within or on top of them when not wearing them. Of course, the rough stones, geodes, and clusters used for purification also need to be purified regularly. For example, they can be placed in sunlight for solar purification or under moonlight for lunar purification. So far, Joyce finds __smoke purification__ to be the most effective! You can light palo santo, dried cedar leaves, dried sage leaves, or incense, and **use the smoke for purification**.
