Vegetable-tanned leather also deepens in color with frequent use, developing a caramel hue over time. • Natural leather surfaces, like human skin, have pores. Consequently, they absorb moisture. After air-drying, faint watermarks may appear, which is a natural phenomenon. The piece is polished with maintenance oil upon completion to reduce moisture absorption and staining. • Avoid prolonged immersion in water. If the leather becomes wet, dry it in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. • Light dirt can be gently wiped away with a clean cotton cloth. Deep oil stains are difficult to remove and will gradually become less noticeable over time.
