About Inca Palo Santo: Inca Palo Santo is a "sacred wood" used by indigenous peoples of the Americas in rituals thousands of years ago. It holds profound significance for them. Lower-grade Palo Santo was burned in rituals to purify spaces and connect with the spirits. Mid-grade Palo Santo was used to craft ceremonial staffs and scepters, while the highest grade was even forbidden from being harvested, reserved for worship of deities. In Peru, Palo Santo is designated as a national sacred wood and cannot be arbitrarily logged. Only a very small number of companies with national legal harvesting permits are allowed to procure it. The name "palo santo" literally means "holy wood" in South America, which is a fitting name as it transforms itself into something sacred and medicinal from birth, growth, to death. Typically, a Palo Santo tree lives for 80-90 years before dying. After its death, it must remain in its state for 4-10 years to complete its transformation process.
