|░ Why We Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nourishes jade for three years, and jade nourishes a person for a lifetime."
While crystals possess a powerful aura, they require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is known for its gentle and soothing properties. Though its energetic field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Jadeite contains over 40 identified minerals, with its primary chemical composition being sodium aluminum silicate—NaAl[Si₂O₆]. It often includes trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White jadeite is typically free of impurities.
Red jadeite contains trivalent iron.
Black jadeite contains over 2% chromium.
Green jadeite contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow jadeite contains iron.
Purple jadeite contains manganese.
Blue jadeite is similar to green but rarer than other colors.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily found in bones and teeth, with also existing in blood and muscles. Calcium acts as a vital regulator of bodily functions throughout all stages of life, from youth to adulthood and into old age. It is an indispensable element for maintaining human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is crucial for maintaining normal physiological functions, preventing cardiovascular diseases, and aiding in blood sugar regulation. The human body cannot synthesize chromium and must absorb it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with Type 2 diabetes, chromium can enhance insulin sensitivity. It benefits those who are overweight by helping control cholesterol and blood sugar. Those experiencing high stress levels lose chromium faster than average, making this element particularly important for these groups.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically contain 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily concentrated in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed amounts largely excreted in feces. Only 10-20% of dietary nickel is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another protective trace element in the human body, also found in jadeite. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is another macronutrient essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is necessary for normal bone growth. Adequate magnesium levels effectively regulate calcium and maintain normal neuromuscular function, with both elements having a synergistic effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation and is associated with the onset of various chronic conditions, particularly increasing the mortality rate of cardiovascular diseases. Some studies suggest that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have lower mortality rates from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and aids metabolism, making it an essential trace element for the human body. Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron for smooth operation.
Medical research indicates that jadeite possesses significant therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Relieving Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help alleviate this common ailment. The jadeite pendant emits energy to the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, and through continuous massage, it can achieve a lasting effect.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have benefits such as "clearing internal heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, benefiting the five internal organs, calming the spirit, promoting blood circulation, and improving vision and hearing."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, promoting the balanced coordination of physiological functions in the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite ornaments, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements within the jadeite enter the body through this contact, nourishing the skin and making one appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Relief: Jadeite's naturally cool property provides a soothing sensation, offering relief from the heat. During the Tang Dynasty, Empress Yang Guifei would reportedly hold jade in her mouth to alleviate summer heat. Since then, jade has been associated with cool and pleasant summer days. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used to provide cooling relief.
The reasons listed above are scientifically or historically supported. Another less tangible reason is that when feeling down or stressed, gazing at jadeite can provide an inexplicable sense of emotional healing, as if offering comfort.
