This inspired me to create bookmarks. Why paint on metal instead of paper? I appreciate the subtle weight that a metal piece adds, giving it a distinct presence in hand, a different warmth compared to your palm or the book itself. Each time I open a book and see my favorite bookmark, it feels like hearing the prelude to a reading session, settling my mood. With its gentle rhythm, it anticipates every reading adventure. The bookmark itself is made of iron, offering a unique, tangible presence distinct from the temperature of paper and hands. 2. Hand-painted with Daler Rowney acrylic paints from the UK. Each bookmark is meticulously painted by hand. 3. After painting, a clear protective varnish is applied, followed by the addition of twine, and finally, a custom-fitted transparent sleeve.
