I encountered a passage during the "Wandering: Our Place: The Chen Cheng-Po 130th Anniversary Exhibition" that resonated deeply: "Where is Taiwan?" I was captivated by these words at the time, which inspired me to translate this feeling into my own artistic vision. I've depicted Taiwan from a different perspective, subtly woven into the land. The humpback whale symbolizes the Kuroshio Current, while the kite string represents the Tropic of Cancer. Additionally, the raindrops in the upper left corner signify the monsoon, and the gentle hand holding the kite, embraced by a free-spirited breeze, embodies hope for the future. Taiwan, in its history, constantly flows and seeks its place. These seemingly neutral geographical descriptions allow me to perceive that even in its smallness, this island carries immense energy, a confluence of countless forces.
