Flower Deity Oracle / No. 23 / Narcissus
The Twelve Flower Deities X 24 Tang and Song Poems X Reinterpreted Oracle Meanings
A traditional custom associated with the Flower Deity:
"On the day of Mangzhong (Grain in Ear), offerings are made to bid farewell to the Flower Deity. It is said that once Mangzhong passes, summer arrives, all flowers wither, and the Flower Deity retires, necessitating a send-off. This custom is particularly cherished by young women. In the Grand View Garden, everyone rises early. The girls fashion carriages and horses from petals and willow branches, or create banners and flags from silk and gauze, adorning them with colorful threads. These decorations are tied to every tree and every flower branch. The garden becomes aflutter with embroidered ribbons and swaying blossoms, enhanced by the maidens themselves, who are as radiant as peaches and plums, and as lovely as swallows and orioles – a sight beyond description."
—Dream of the Red Chamber, Chapter 27

It is as if vibrant blossoms unfurl, and your emotions, whether the stirrings of spring or the depth of autumn, arise because you are worthy of them.
Sometimes, we yearn for a subtle hint. Other times, that elusive connection we cannot articulate is simply an unwillingness to face the reality of a destined separation.
Let us shake the divination sticks, and entrust ourselves to the flow of chance.
Your belief in the existence of a feeling is as valid as your belief in its absence.
