Artist: Kwood
https://images2.imgbox.com/66/c6/wVo3QFy7_o.jpeg
Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1983, with a background in craft design. He once wandered the streets of Japan, experiencing how wooden art infused warm and profound vitality into ancient alleyways. These objects, like fragments of time, carry traces of history and outlines of the future, seeking a delicate balance between opposition and harmony. They transform into exquisite works, closely connecting the vision of a new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Agarwood, once crushed into powder for its aroma, is revered in Japan and placed in the most honored, sunlit areas of the home, symbolizing vitality and light.
Agarwood is sourced directly from its origin, pure and flawless, untouched by artificial processes such as boiling glue, drawing lines, or adding fragrances. It is presented in its most natural form. Through ancient aroma-extraction techniques, the artist meticulously hand-peels the outer layers of aged wood, revealing the true soul of the agarwood. This not only imbues it with eternal vitality but also subtly intertwines tradition and modern craftsmanship within the touch, creating a feast for both sight and smell. Its rich aroma, like the condensation of time, gently draws together past memories and future aspirations, allowing them to meet and resonate within the fragrance, continuously extending, distant and profound.
