By carefully controlling the thickness of each glaze layer and firing at 1260°C, it undergoes a 20-hour intense fiery transformation. This process allows the glaze to shrink and flow within the kiln, creating the intricate patterns and fluid texture reminiscent of peacock feathers. The difficulty in firing lies in precisely managing the thickness of each glaze layer and adjusting the temperature curve. If the glaze is too thin or the temperature is insufficient, the characteristic peacock feather patterns will not emerge. Conversely, if the glaze is too thick or the temperature is too high, the glaze may flow onto the accompanying plate, causing the teacup and plate to be damaged together. Ambient temperature also influences the outcome. Numerous factors are at play, and even after years of dedicated study, achieving perfect control over its variations remains elusive. However, it is precisely this unpredictability that imbues the finished piece with its precious value. It is my hope that through this work, people will be encouraged to embrace hope when facing any adversity, to persevere with unwavering effort, and one day, like a peacock, unfurl their magnificent feathers, illuminating their lives with brilliance!
