Thailand 18th-19th Century Silver Ingot Ring × Burmese Pagoda Talisman Beads
A fusion of traditional craftsmanship and spiritual protection.
The ring setting is crafted primarily from Thai "butt silver /尻川銀" from the 18th-19th century, weighing approximately 15 grams.
The back is inlaid with 36 small silver-gold alloy talisman beads unearthed from pagodas in Mandalay and Bagan, Myanmar.
International ring size 17, suitable for men. Women can also pair it with a knot or wear it on a necklace to feel the protection of the talisman beads.
The talisman beads are inherently simple, without ornamentation, making their age difficult to determine by appearance alone.
Burmese temples have a long tradition of crafting these, and distinguishing new from old or authentic from imitation based solely on appearance is challenging.
There are no authoritative appraisal bodies in the market, so purchasing relies on trusting reputable antique dealers.
