Love and Peace - LENNON
The name LENNON is inspired by John Lennon, a member of The Beatles. In 1971, Lennon’s iconic song Imagine became a powerful anthem of his longing for peace, inspiring countless people living under oppressive regimes. Following Lennon’s tragic assassination, fans in Prague began painting lyrics from his songs and messages advocating for freedom and democracy on a wall in a monastery square. This wall, now famously known as the "Lennon Wall," became a symbol of people’s yearning for peace. Although the original images and lyrics have been repeatedly covered with new graffiti, each layer reflects the enduring spirit of free expression. Despite efforts by authorities to restore it, the wall continuously evolves, filled with new symbols, poetry, and art. Today, the Lennon Wall stands as an iconic landmark for expressing diverse opinions and hopes for peace.
Over time, Lennon Walls have appeared in various forms around the world—walls covered in thousands of sticky notes, mobile installations carried by individuals, and even hand-held boards. An unspoken rule of the Lennon Wall tradition is that anyone is free to paint over previous works, symbolizing respect for everyone's right to express their thoughts and beliefs. In modern times, the Lennon Wall has come to represent the pursuit of free speech, love, and peace.
The LENNON full-face helmet is named not only in tribute to this legendary champion of freedom but also to imbue our helmets with extraordinary meaning and value. Just as Lennon’s lyrics in Imagine state:
"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one."
