It contains no harmful substances, making it suitable for items that come into direct contact with the skin. This is an environmentally friendly leather choice. ● Color Development of Vegetable-Tanned Leather Natural vegetable-tanned leather deepens in color and develops a richer luster and suppleness over time with use. Colored vegetable-tanned leather is dyed using non-polluting pigments in a natural process. While black may not show the same dramatic color change as natural, it will still develop a beautiful, lustrous patina with long-term use. Cows may encounter friction with other cattle or insect bites during their lives.
