I create my works based on the traditional Japanese craft of Ikkanbari. Ikkanbari is a method of covering a basket product with white washi paper, decorating it with colored washi paper or cloth, and finally applying persimmon tannins and water-based varnish.
It is a craft that requires finishing. Many of the pieces use old fabrics and paper, but my work uses more everyday materials.
The purple patterned fabric is arranged on a yellow washi paper base, with copper foil as an accent. The inside is made of blue washi paper with copper foil. A cloth drawstring bag is included, so you can store delicate items with peace of mind.
