The branches, reaching towards the sky, held the falling snow, reflecting the clear afternoon sun. It was as if an unseen hand had decorated a Christmas tree with golden ribbons, scattering a generous amount of fine gold dust. I spent a month immersed in this Eastern European country, quite uncommon for Asians, and have long yearned to revisit it in different seasons.
