This K10 (10-karat gold) necklace features demantoid garnet, known for its brilliant sparkle and deep, vivid green color. Demantoid garnet possesses a rainbow-like iridescence called "fire" and, among the diverse hues of garnets, is a highly sought-after gemstone due to its beauty and rarity. Garnet is the birthstone for January.
The milgrain embellishment, which gently surrounds the small gemstone, means "a thousand grains" in Latin and has been used since ancient times as an auspicious decoration, evoking concepts of eternity, abundance, fertility, and longevity.
This jewelry series, named "Petela," combines "mille grain" – which forms a continuous circle – with "petit," meaning small in French.
It carries the wish: "May the sentiments held within this small gem last for eternity."
You can choose your birthstone or favorite colored stone and wear it daily as a talisman. It serves as a stylish accent for office attire, or can be layered with other necklaces for added radiance on outings.
Its simple and understated design makes it a recommended series for gifts to loved ones.
This is a simple, timeless necklace with a single demantoid garnet on an azuki bean chain. All materials are yellow gold, giving it a luxurious feel. The chain is delicate and the top is small and dainty, making it easy to wear even for those unaccustomed to jewelry.
It is also recommended as a first piece of jewelry, a gift, or a personal treat. You can wear it always as a talisman, combining the meaning of the series with the meaning of each gemstone.
Enjoy various arrangements by adding a natural stone charm from Raspia or layering necklaces.

■ Gemstone Meanings: Passion, Dignity, Life
Demantoid garnet's Japanese name is Sui-zakuroishi, and its Mohs hardness is 7-7.5.
Garnet is famously known as the birthstone for January.
Demantoid garnet is characterized by its highly saturated, refreshing green color. It originates from the Ural Mountains in Russia and was cherished by the royalty and aristocracy of the Romanov dynasty.
It is sometimes called "green garnet" along with tsavorite and can be confused with it. However, as their garnet classifications are entirely different, these two green garnets are clearly distinguished as completely separate types.
"Demantoid" means "diamond-like" in Dutch, possessing a higher refractive index and dispersion than diamond. True to its name, it is the most beautifully sparkling and extremely rare gemstone among garnets.
The Japanese name for garnet, Zakuro-ishi, is derived from the resemblance of a pomegranate's fruit and shape to garnet. As a pomegranate bears numerous seeds, it symbolizes fertility and prosperity, and in Buddhism, it is auspiciously called "Kishouka" (auspicious fruit).
Furthermore, demantoid garnets may exhibit inclusions called horsetails, and in Europe, horses are considered lucky, making them perfect for commemorative items or gifts.
※As natural stones are used, they may contain inclusions (cracks or inclusions) unique to the stone, or their shapes may vary slightly. While we strive to select stones carefully, we hope you will enjoy their natural charm.
We photograph to best represent the stones, but their colors may appear differently on smartphone or computer screens. Please purchase with understanding.
