《 Argentum Aeternum / Sheng Chun 》
-
In ancient Chinese, plants like roses and Chinese roses, which belong to the Rosaceae family, were all known as "Sheng Chun" (勝春). This is because these plants bloom vibrantly throughout the year, regardless of scorching summers or harsh winters.
A rose, with its hopeful radiance reminiscent of spring, always triumphs over desolation and adversity, no matter the season or circumstance.
-
The Latin word for "silver," "Argentum," signifies "shining light."
This collection interprets the rose through the medium of silver, hence the name 《 Argentum Aeternum 》, meaning "eternal radiance," with the Chinese translation 《 Sheng Chun 》.
-
【 In a world full of daisies dare to be a rose. 】
-
The inspiration for this collection stems from a conversation between Kyle, the founder and wax carving silversmith of "Yi Ben" (一本), and Chen Jie-Jun, an esteemed rose craftsman.
During their discussion, Jie-Jun shared the phrase "to plant a rose in a field of daisies," conveying the idea of holding onto ideals and hope, planting the seeds of vibrant spring even in seemingly hopeless places.
This sentiment not only offered Kyle a fresh perspective on the roses he cherishes but also served as a guiding light on the arduous path of pursuing one's ideals.
-
"Yi Ben" consistently adheres to its core philosophy of "less is more," meticulously refining its creations through a process of subtraction, selection, release, and acceptance, to arrive at a pure, unadulterated essence.
Following the previous collection, 《 Jing Sheng 》, which explored self-discovery and identity, "Yi Ben" embarks on a new phase dedicated to exploring the optical interpretation of craftsmanship. 《 Sheng Chun 》 marks a pivotal turning point, bridging these explorations.
-
The 《 Sheng Chun 》 collection features four distinct floral rings: 《 Juan 》, 《 Yan 》, 《 Jing 》, and 《 Weng 》. Each piece uniquely interprets a different facet of "spring's vitality" with precise craftsmanship and a distinctive touch. Wearing them is akin to cultivating vibrant life and hopeful light upon oneself and within one's heart.
