Jabuticaba A tropical to subtropical fruit, scientifically known as Plinia cauliflora. Also called Brazilian Grape Tree. It is pest-resistant and highly adaptable. The ripe fruit has a purple exterior, with a sweet pulp and a sour skin. The fruit is typically eaten with the seeds. It is rich in nutrients such as Vitamin C, and trace elements like phosphorus and magnesium. Clump-forming, windswept tree style. Approximately 17 years old. The bark has peeled, revealing a smooth trunk. Cultivated in a small pot for many years, new branches require extensive time to thicken. It is less commonly styled as a bonsai tree, with a robust nebari (root base). In recent years, regular pruning has been employed to shape the tree.
