Artist's Introduction: Clay is the softest, most universal memory residing deep within our hearts. It's an intimate friend, allowing us to express ourselves freely, shaping it as we wish. With both my parents being ceramic artists, growing up surrounded by clay in the studio felt entirely natural.
Tea culture is a significant aspect of Chinese heritage, yet the demanding pace of modern life often hinders our ability to experience its subtle beauty. Many classical arts, such as calligraphy and ink painting, are gradually being overlooked by younger generations. These are invaluable traditions unique to China. Our aesthetic education, often leaning towards Western influences, tends to favor modern, bold designs and vibrant colors. I am particularly drawn to the freedom of ink. Despite its limited palette of black and white, ink can convey a myriad of expressions through variations in density, depth, and the dynamic flow of lines. By merging Chinese tea culture with the art of ink, I aim to attract young people to these traditions in a way they find appealing and beautiful, demonstrating that they can be integrated into a stylish lifestyle.
