Compared to the standard version, it offers even greater flexibility, allowing for more expressive strokes. Line width variation is not solely achieved by pressing the nib, but by the angle of the pen holder. Utilizing the nib's curvature, thin lines are produced when the pen is held at a more upright angle, minimizing the contact area with the paper. The softness of the Special Calligraphy nib can easily tempt users to press down, and if the technique is not refined, it can lead to ink starvation. The responsive flex can cause the nib and feed to momentarily separate if the holding angle is incorrect or if pressure is applied improperly, disrupting ink flow and leading to skips. If the pen holder's angle deviates, combined with pressing the nib, it can distort the ink channels, causing inconsistent flow. Therefore, this nib is more flexible and challenging to control.
