It has extremely stringent requirements for water quality, and the cultivation process is very lengthy. For every 100 oysters seeded, only 50 successfully grow pearls, and of those, only 5 are flawless. Consequently, each Tahitian black pearl is exceptionally precious. Small indentations, known as dimples, may be present on the pearl's surface. These occur naturally as the pearl grows within the shell. For any natural pearl, slight surface texture or pores are normal due to their natural growth characteristics.
