This bowl features a depiction of a red camellia blooming in the garden, as seen from the window of a pottery studio in early winter. Crafted using Shigaraki clay, this bowl was shaped on a potter's wheel before the red camellia was meticulously hand-painted, layer by layer, and then fired. The glaze, mixed in our studio, was chosen for its fired color, complementing the natural hues of the flowers. Gold and silver accents are added to the camellia for a touch of opulence. The application of gold and silver is technically demanding, requiring careful attention to temperature and humidity control during the process.
