In this creation, the lost culture of Kabang is used as an image. The bow of the boat, which is metaphorized by Kabang as the mouth, is presented in the form of a wreck. It is split from the mouth part and is expressed by joining two materials to express the continuation of life. The mouth that he relies on for survival can no longer be used to eat completely, which symbolizes the fault and loss of Kabang culture.
The remains are presented in a hanging manner, hooked around the mouth, to express the helpless sentimentality of cultural remnants felt in the local Moken villages.
Ka Bang means home boat in the Moken language. To the Moken people, Ka Bang is a being that gives them life and can survive on the sea. Therefore, they compare Ka Bang to a human being and has a mouth, abdomen, and Buttocks and other parts, and coexist with it from birth to old age and death.
When visiting the Moken village on Payan Island, I found that with the changes in people, time and land, the local Kabang has been replaced by Thai long-tail boats, and the technology of making Kabang has gradually been lost, and its traditional core culture has gradually been lost.
