This is a dedicated notebook for collecting Goshuin (stamps) received at shrines and temples as proof of a visit.
Traditionally, a Goshuin consists of a vermilion seal featuring a motif related to the deity or place, along with handwritten black ink denoting the principal deity or shrine name. However, designs vary greatly between shrines and temples, and nowadays, many unique and personalized Goshuin can be found.
In Kyoto, you can even receive Goshuin at the floats during the Gion Festival.
More than just a collection of stamps, a Goshuincho filled with Goshuin, received with reverence akin to talismans or charms, becomes a cherished keepsake. It offers a delightful way to reminisce about your travels simply by looking through it, serving as a treasured memento.
