Introducing the "[Confronting Taiwanese]" series, infused with the lifelong mastery of Taiwanese calligrapher Chen Shih-hsien!
規卵葩火 (kui lān pha hué)
[Phonetic Reading] kui lān pha hué
[Meaning] Extremely angry
[Example Sentence] Seeing the KMT say that people who speak Taiwanese are uncultured, I’m absolutely furious.
(Mandarin Translation: Seeing the KMT say that people who speak Taiwanese are uncultured, your father is super angry.)
[Concept] Chong Zu [Calligraphy] Chen Shih-hsien [Illustration] Oink Chen
Note: The correct kanji for this phrase is "規卵葩火". However, calligrapher Chen Shih-hsien, from a biological perspective, felt that no matter how he looked at his own "lān" (testicles), they weren't white! Thus, with both artistic freedom and a touch of defiance, he removed the character "white". Perhaps this also implies it doesn't include "Bai Ze Yi" (a pun on a Taiwanese politician's name, meaning "liar").
Dimensions: 8.5x12cm
