A few days ago, I read an article that suggested designer-published New Year cards and red envelopes are absolute must-haves for Lunar New Year collections. This is because designers often have more creative freedom during this time, allowing them to showcase their skills to the fullest.
For me, beyond the freedom to design as I please, it's also an opportunity to experiment with different materials and printing techniques. I’ve wanted to use the scratch-off ink effect for a long time, and pairing it with the auspicious phrase "馬上有" (which translates to "immediately have" or "immediately win," a pun on "horse") felt perfectly fitting.
