It is made from Pinatex, a plant-based leather (Vegan leather) from the Spanish company Ananas Anam. Developed by Dr. Carmen from the Royal College of Art in the UK, it extracts fibers from pineapple leaves and processes them through methods like waxing and embossing to achieve an appearance similar to genuine leather. It emphasizes a cruelty-free, carbon-reducing alternative to animal leather, not only revitalizing idle agricultural pineapple leaves but also ensuring the manufacturing process is free from toxic substances. At the end of its lifecycle, the material is biodegradable, returning to nature and protecting our environment from the impacts of climate change for future generations.
