Zircon
One of Thailand's Nine Auspicious Gemstones
🍂 Zircon is a highly significant gemstone in Thai culture and belief, as it is one of the Nine Auspicious Gemstones, also known as the "Navaphakao Gems."
Zircon, also known in English as "Zircon," is a well-known and popular gemstone for a long time. Its name derives from the Persian word "Zargun," meaning gold.
🍂Thais in the past understood zircon to be a dull red gemstone.
However, in reality, zircon can be found in a variety of colors, including red, orange, yellow, brown, blue, and even colorless. Major zircon producing regions include Thailand, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mozambique, and Madagascar.
🍂Colorless zircon is also quite popular because it closely resembles diamonds. The only difference is that zircon has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. Therefore, it is not surprising that it is often used as a diamond replacement.
🍂Zircon and Beliefs
Humans have a long history of faith and beliefs regarding various gemstones. Zircon is no exception. During the Middle Ages, Europeans often used zircon as amulets to carry while traveling. These amulets offered protection, ensuring smooth and safe travels, warding off danger and illness, and protecting against evil spirits. It was believed that a change in color signaled impending danger. Zircon is also believed to be an effective remedy for insomnia.
🍂Zircon also brings good fortune and increased wealth to its owner. Zircon also promotes and brings luck in matters of love, making it a popular gift for married couples.

• Maintenance Instructions
The setting is micron-plated silver. However, silver plating is normal, and the plating will fade with use.
1. For rings and bracelets, you can wear them while washing your hands, using soap, and dishwashing liquid. Alcohol can also be used. Excessive exposure will cause the plating to fade faster.
2. When wearing, be careful not to let them get exposed to chemicals (they can tarnish all jewelry, including gold). You can shower with them, but be careful: soap and shampoo residue may clog the grooves in the setting, which can tarnish the gemstone over time.
3. Clean with jewelry cleaner or diluted dishwashing liquid mixed with water. Use a toothbrush to gently scrub, then rinse with clean water. Wipe dry with a clean cloth. When not wearing, store them in the small, sealable zip-lock bag provided. This helps prevent oxidation from sweat and air, which can darken the setting (like regular silver settings).
