Having dogs and cats at home, my fascination with animals led me to wonder: wouldn't it be wonderful to incorporate the animals I love into daily life, allowing art to be more than just something to be admired, but a companion for every day? And so, I combine hand-painting with porcelain, capturing cute, mischievous, and personality-filled animals on plates and mugs. Since establishing the studio in 2014, I have personally painted over a thousand pieces. Every stroke is hand-drawn, giving each piece its own unique expression and story—one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable. Looking ahead, I want to continue this journey of animal porcelain art, painting my love for animals into life and helping this little animal kingdom reach even further. **Starting with a single piece of porcelain, keep the animals you love by your side.** https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51960408151_3c8d83bc60_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51960687694_ac70bf7604_z.jpg ## Custom Work Q&A **Q| How do I order a custom piece?** In addition to the original designs in our studio, "Nien" offers custom porcelain painting services, turning your beloved pets, animals, and memories into a piece of porcelain art that can be cherished for a long time. Customization Process: Send a private message to Nien with the photo you would like painted, the porcelain style, and your specific requirements. Discuss composition, text, and details with Nien to confirm the final content. Once confirmed, Nien will create a private order. Once the order is placed, it will be added to the production schedule. It is recommended to provide clear, well-lit photos where the animal's features, fur color, and characteristics are clearly visible so that Nien can capture their unique look in detail. **Q| How much do custom pieces cost?** Basic customization includes: **One main animal character + decorative elements (flowers, butterflies, etc.) + custom text** Reference prices: ・6-inch plate/mug | From NT$1,200 ・7-inch plate | From NT$1,500 ・8-inch plate | From NT$1,900 ・Adding a second animal to the same piece | From +NT$500 Special compositions, complex backgrounds, multiple animals, or other special requests will be quoted individually based on the actual design. **Q| How long does production take?** Every piece is hand-painted by Nien. From composition and painting to kiln-firing for color fixation, the process takes time. General production time is **at least 14 working days**; actual lead times vary depending on current order volume and the complexity of the piece. If you have a birthday, anniversary, or a specific gifting date, it is recommended to message us to check availability before placing an order. **Q| How do I care for my porcelain pieces?** To keep your piece in good condition for longer, we recommend: ・Wash gently using a soft sponge and mild detergent. ・Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool, or abrasive cleaning products. ・Not recommended for use in dishwashers or microwaves. ・Avoid prolonged soaking or vigorous scrubbing of the painted surface. Careful use and storage will help preserve the colors and texture of the hand-painted work. **Q| Is the paint used on the porcelain safe?** Nien uses German-made porcelain paints, and all pieces are kiln-fired to fix the colors after completion. As these pieces are intended primarily as art and collectibles, it is recommended to avoid direct contact between the painted patterns and hot food. Plates are recommended for use as **dessert plates, cold food platters, or home art decor**; they can also be displayed with a stand or collected as wall art. Every piece is more than just a dish; it is a small painting that holds a story for you. **Q| How are porcelain pieces shipped?** Each porcelain piece is carefully wrapped before shipment, using cushioned packaging for full protection, and boxed in a way suitable for fragile items to minimize the risk of collision and breakage during transport. Items are shipped via courier to ensure they arrive safely to you. * Thank you to Cat's Life magazine for the interview https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51959458687_933f7001a3_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51961027975_bc25138d01_z.jpg
