/ Product Description & Story /
Every mountain and river possesses a unique essence.
Every child carries the river of their mother.
Among the Phutai people of Laos, an ancient secret art has been passed down through generations of women,
transforming the essence of life into flowing rivers on woven fabric.
Sun, rivers and oceans, mountains, soil, forests, flora and fauna –
deeply connected to nature, we are never separate from the whole.

Ikat weaving is a heritage of ancient human wisdom.
These distinctive patterns are not created solely on the loom.
From the very beginning of the dyeing process,
the intended overall design is meticulously planned.
Threads are bound to resist dye in specific areas,
and then undergo 10-15 cycles of immersion,
beating, and sun-drying in natural plant dyes.
This process imbues the threads with layers of sunlight and natural color.
Only then, on the loom, does the soft yet resilient river of life gradually emerge.
Each weaver inherits unique river patterns from their maternal lineage,
and then transforms them with their own perception of the mountains, rivers, and earth, creating new designs.
Transformation is the beautiful mystery of life.
