Both fabrics are highly wrinkle-resistant. 2. Extremely lightweight and compact. You can easily use just one layer (Note: The plaid fabric is thin, so you might feel some moisture if placed directly on grass). 3. The base layer isn't 100% waterproof, but it handles slightly damp grass perfectly. Avoid using in puddles or heavy rain (though we doubt anyone goes picnicking in that weather!). 4. We strongly advise AGAINST machine washing the water-repellent layer. Waterproof materials can block drainage holes during the spin cycle, potentially damaging your washing machine. 5. Hand washing is highly recommended. Simply let the water drip off and hang it up; it dries very quickly. 6. After use on sand or grass, just give it a good shake.
