<A one-of-a-kind beauty that brings you happiness>
In the past, people living in Watari, Miyagi Prefecture, used to place gifts in "bags" made from leftover fabric of old kimonos. For example, it might have been a 1.8-liter bottle of rice given as a celebration or a return gift. There was no set name, and "fukuro" (bag) was slurred into "fuguro."
"FUGURO" is a remake that recreates this old custom. The material is kimono fabric with auspicious patterns, carefully selected from thousands of kimonos sleeping in wardrobes. Each piece is meticulously finished by hand, with a strong wish for the happiness of the person who holds it.
Wrap and gift your precious items, embodying a refined culture of reciprocation and gratitude. We deliver a one-of-a-kind beauty that brings you happiness.
<Symbols of Happiness: Auspicious Patterns>
Understanding the meanings of Japanese patterns, which are auspicious symbols of good fortune, also connects us to the profound depths of Japanese culture inherited from ancient times.
<Chrysanthemum Pattern> "Longevity," "Wish for Rejuvenation," "Wish for Health." Chrysanthemums were believed to have anti-aging properties and were used medicinally. They are considered the king of herbs and a symbol of longevity.
<Plum Blossom Pattern> "Wish for Success," "Academic Achievement," "Wish for Safe Childbirth." It is said that Tenjin-sama (Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning) resides within plum seeds, and they have been treated similarly to the god of scholarship.
<Maple Leaf Pattern> "Skill Improvement," "Love Fulfillment." This pattern was favored by samurai families who believed its leaf shape resembled a rooster's comb, signifying "taking over the world." The maple leaves turn color around the deer's mating season, so it also carries a wish for love fulfillment.
Two colors of thread are used, matching the colors of the outer and inner fabrics. Please enjoy the beautiful stitching that is pleasing to everyone's eyes.
<Japanese Gifts>
As they are made from kimono fabric, a symbol of Japanese culture, they are also used as souvenirs for overseas visitors or as gifts for foreign customers. They are compact and convenient to carry. An explanation in both Japanese and English is included.
<Versatile Uses>
Use it as a bag-in-bag, or as a small pouch for keys or supplements. Fill it with snacks essential for your refreshing break at the office. Display it as interior decor in your living room. Thinking about how to use it is also a fun moment. You can enjoy it for various purposes depending on your ideas. It can be used as a reversible item.

<Notes on Purchase>
* As all items are handmade, please understand that each piece is unique, with slight variations in size, shape, and pattern.
* In rare cases, when we obtain high-quality kimono fabric, we may produce multiple items from the same fabric. Please note that the pattern placement may differ slightly from the photo due to the cutting position of the fabric.
* Please understand that the color and texture may appear different on screen compared to the actual product. If you have any concerns, please contact us or refrain from purchasing.
* Since the kimono fabrics used as materials are often second-hand and lack clear labeling, the materials cannot always be identified. We thoroughly inspect and process the fabrics, including washing, before remaking them. Please handle with care, as some fabrics may fade or shrink when wet.
* As we also sell on other sites, please forgive us if the item is out of stock.
