This Buddha statue emerged from a collapsed pagoda in the Mandalay region of Myanmar.
It depicts a Seated Bodhisattva in a relaxed posture.
The estimated age is around the 18th-19th century (the antique dealer who brought it to Taiwan believed it to be even older...).
Having handled antiques for many years, it's prudent to conservatively estimate the age.
The back of the statue is not sealed.
It is made of a bronze alloy.
There are five small casting imperfections.
The total height is 15cm, the base width is 9.2cm, and the widest point is 10.5cm. It weighs 552g.
The exterior has been cleaned.
Hard, cement-like soil deposits have been removed from the bronze Buddha, along with most of the green patina and oxidation.
