The theme of this piece is a quiet and serene "Conifer Forest." Each bead is carefully crafted using hand-dyed Washi paper that displays a beautiful green gradient. The soft, layered green hues look just like a mysterious northern forest straight out of a picture book, bringing a sense of peace and healing just by looking at them. Above the paper beads, I have combined Czech glass beads—which reflect light into magical, shifting colors—with delicate gold wire to capture the imagery of shimmering sunlight filtering through the trees. In bright light, the gentle green of the Washi paper stands out beautifully. In softer lighting, the Czech beads catch the light, swaying and glittering elegantly by your ears. ◆ The Story & Craftsmanship behind "Shizu" (Paper Beads) Astonishingly Lightweight, Like Wearing Air: The greatest charm of hand-crafted Washi paper is that it is "thin and light, yet remarkably strong." Because of this, the finished beads hold air inside, making them so light you will barely feel any weight on your ears. They are highly recommended for those who don't usually wear accessories or dislike heavy earrings. Artisan Handwork & Reliable Durability: After cutting the Washi paper into thin strips, I roll each one meticulously by hand. The surface is then coated with multiple layers of acrylic resin. While preserving the warm, gentle texture unique to Washi paper, it gains a glossy, porcelain-like finish and the strength needed for long-lasting use. The stringing holes of each bead are also reinforced with metal eyelets for added durability. Hypoallergenic Considerations: The metal components are made of Surgical Stainless Steel, which is widely known to be hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive skin. Water Resistance: While the multiple layers of acrylic coating offer light water resistance, Washi paper items are naturally sensitive to moisture. They cannot be washed. If they accidentally get wet, please wipe them immediately with a dry cloth and allow them to dry completely. Care & Storage: Rubbing the beads harshly may cause surface scratches or loss of gloss. After use, please wipe them gently with a soft cloth (such as a microfiber cloth for glasses).
