While reproducing the beauty, cuteness, and uniqueness of the real thing as faithfully as possible, we take advantage of the gentle colors and textures unique to washi paper to create works that are better than the real thing. In this work, I colored the black eyes of the octopus and the rope of the octopus pot by pasting them with pieces of Japanese paper that had been torn into thin strips by hand, and colored everything, including the small details, with washi paper. In particular, the rope of the octopus pot is made to look like a rope by twisting several strands with your fingertips to make it thicker. ~ Thoughts on creating works ~ Handicrafts are warm and friendly and blend into everyday life.
