An elegant piece of lace is made with cotton thread through the fingers of the designer, holding small shuttles. Although this is an old art in the Western world, it was only introduced to Asia in recent years. The design of tatting lace has evolved to the next level, revealing how an old technique can produce modern designs. Tatting uses special cotton thread that are strong and durable. Although tatted lace looks light and delicate, it is very durable. With proper care, it can definitely become an heirloom. ◙ How to care for tatting lace Store away from the Sun, to avoid fading of colours. If needed, you can soak it in clean water and gently rub with your hands. Do not pull with force.
