Flower Deity Oracle / No. 9 / Pomegranate
Twelve Flower Deities X Twenty-Four Tang & Song Poems X Reinterpreted Oracle Meanings
The Flower Deity, an ancient custom:
"On the day of the Mangzhong solar term, offerings are made to bid farewell to the Flower Deity. It is said that once Mangzhong passes, summer arrives, all flowers wither, and the Flower Deity retires, necessitating a farewell ceremony. This custom is particularly cherished by young women. In the Grand View Garden, everyone rises early. The young ladies craft carriages and horses from petals and willow branches, or construct banners and streamers from silk and gauze, adorned with colorful threads. These are tied to every tree and every flower. The garden is filled with fluttering embroidered ribbons and vibrant blossoms, and the maidens, with their charming appearances, outshine even the flowers. It is a scene beyond words."
—Dream of the Red Chamber, Chapter 27

It's like this: the vibrant blooms, your yearning heart in spring, your deep feelings in autumn – it all stems from your inherent worth.
Sometimes, we yearn for a subtle sign. Sometimes, that intangible connection, the one we can't quite articulate, is precisely the 'fated but not meant to be' that we're unwilling to acknowledge.
Let us shake the oracle bamboo, and entrust ourselves to the rhythm of chance.
Your belief in a feeling's existence is just as valid as your belief in its absence.
