This is an SDGs jewelry piece featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from pottery by Toshō Fukuoka (Fukuoka Toshō) from Kumamoto Prefecture. Broken or chipped pottery, no longer in use, is repurposed and adorned with Kintsugi to be reborn as accessories.
The concept behind these pieces is to bring the beauty of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to people, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future and create new possibilities.
Elegant ceramic fragments with a deep green hue are paired with brown components. They sway gently with movement, exuding a refined elegance.
The Kintsugi applied to the sides of the ceramic fragments allows the gold to shine from all angles, adding a touch of sophistication.
These pieces are perfect as a stylish accent for both casual and elegant outfits.
Length: Ceramic fragment: 17 x 17mm, Total length: 38mm
Metal fittings: Screw-back earrings (metal fittings cannot be changed)
Weight: Despite being ceramic fragments, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
As each piece is one-of-a-kind, it makes an ideal gift. Please consider it for a special someone.
*As this is a finished product, we cannot accommodate requests for changing metal fittings or for remakes.
*We will ship the item shown in the photos. However, if it has already been sold on another site, it may be a made-to-order item. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in color, pattern, and size of the ceramic fragments and natural stones compared to the photos.
*"Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair method that mends broken or chipped pottery using lacquer and gold powder. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi using genuine lacquer derived from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for bonding.
For the Kintsugi parts, we use lacquer (a paint made by a manufacturer, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), along with UV resin for reinforcement.
