Calling all hikers! Carry this mini warning sign keychain on your next trek to sharpen everyone’s "nature eyes" for spotting the Hong Kong Newt and other local wildlife!
【About the Hong Kong Newt】
Every spring in Hong Kong, thousands of Hong Kong newts leave the streams and migrate into the forest. For them, crossing the road has become an annual life-or-death crisis.
According to a 2024 survey, during the two-month peak migration period alone, more than 1,400 Hong Kong newts were killed by vehicles — that’s “roadkill”.
