Wanderlust wastelander tape

After a trip to Italy in 2005, I began sharing travel images and stories. Subsequently, I journeyed to Tokyo, Beijing, the UK, the Kansai region of Japan, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Yunnan, Sichuan, Northern India, Tibet, Mexico, Cuba, Bogota, Quito, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia. My most recent travels in Central and South America took place from October 28, 2015, to March 11, 2016. Over these ten years, I've photographed countless landscapes and people. Each return from a trip meant weeks or months immersed in a sea of images for sorting and organizing. The ten-year anniversary wastelander tape project was a monumental undertaking, involving a thorough review of all photos taken over the decade. Over a hundred were selected to create this wastelander tape: 3cm high and 1000cm in total length, with a repeating pattern cycle of 45cm. Landscapes and people captured during real travels are subconsciously pieced together to form a world that doesn't exist—perhaps it's the place my mind truly longs to visit.
