This is an SDGs jewelry with kintsugi, upcycled from pottery by Matsugunzan kiln (Shounzan gama) in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Cracked or chipped pottery that is no longer used is reused, repaired with kintsugi, and transformed into accessories.
The concept behind the work is to create new possibilities by transforming these pieces into modern accessories that connect to the future, allowing people to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions.
We paired deep indigo pottery fragments with freshwater pearls.
The pearls sway elegantly with every step.
Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, so the gold accents are visible from the side as well, adding a touch of sophistication.
These pieces are perfect as a focal point for both casual and elegant outfits.
Length: Pottery fragment: 11 x 17mm Total length: 28mm
Metal fittings: Surgical stainless steel earrings (metal fittings cannot be changed)
Weight: Although they are pottery fragments, they are light and comfortable to wear. ◎
This is a one-of-a-kind accessory, making it an ideal gift. Please consider it as a present for your loved ones.
*As this is a finished product and one-of-a-kind, we cannot accept requests for changes to the metal fittings or for remakes.
*We will send you the item shown in the photo. However, if it has already been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In that case, please note that there may be individual differences in color, pattern, and size of the pottery fragments and natural stones compared to the photo.
*"Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair method that uses lacquer and gold powder to mend cracked or chipped pottery and porcelain. This work uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike genuine lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for bonding.
The kintsugi parts use lacquer (a paint made by the manufacturer, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also used for reinforcement.
