Hi everyone, I'm Rami, an illustrator from Taiwan. I never thought this day would come. The NCTU main gate sign has been removed. QQ I saw many friends rushing back to the main gate to take photos and mark the occasion while the sign was still there. It reminded me of how the two campuses were once connected, allowing us to often take the "Qing-Jiao" path to NCTU for volleyball and club activities. We'd also frequently encounter NCTU students dining at our university's cafeteria. I always felt the "Qing-Jiao" path was like the tunnel in Spirited Away, connecting two different worlds. It allowed the two universities to host events together and share so much. Of course, except during the "Mei-Zhu Games" season, when students from both sides would intensely compete against each other XD. But after the games, we were still the most familiar friendly rival universities. Because of these shared experiences, I felt a particular sadness knowing the NCTU sign was being removed. After much reflection and several drafts, I used my favorite medium, watercolor, to paint the NCTU main gate from memory. These have been made into postcards, for those who miss it to send to those they miss. Goodbye, NCTU. Thank you for being a part of my youth.
