Nanbu tekki tetsubin japanese cast iron kettle tetori arare 1.6L - Teapots & Teacups - Other Metals Black

Product Description

The tetsubin is modeled after the shape of a chanoyu kettle. Tetori-kettle is one of the shapes of chanoyu kettles. It is said that the name "tedori" comes from the fact that the handle is attached to a chanoyu kettle and can be picked up immediately. The solid shape makes it easy to use on a daily basis. The design is a traditional Arare pattern. The arare pattern makes the tetsubin thicker and more effective at retaining heat, which is the result of the ingenious wisdom and intricate design of our ancestors, which has been handed down to this day. The quaint, classical design creates a stylish atmosphere in both Japanese and Western kitchens. The rim of the lid is also decorated with an arare pattern. The inside is finished with a rust-resistant finish using the traditional 「kama-yaki」 technique. Kamayaki is done by firing the tetsubin in a high-temperature oven. This process forms an oxide film on the surface of the tetsubin. The oxide film stabilizes the iron content of the tetsubin. The flavor of boiled water is improved and rust and corrosion are prevented. Rust-proofing by kettle firing is a traditional technique that has been handed down since ancient times. The handle is fixed. The capacity is approximately 1.6 liters, which is large enough to boil a lot of water. The heat source is gas compatible. ※It cannot be used with IH.
