Burmese Tiger Stripe Wood Beads & Daron Mantra Beads Bracelet (Length 19.5cm, Inner Diameter 16cm)

A bracelet crafted from two types of ancient beads. 1. Six Burmese Tiger Stripe Wood Beads. Acquired from an antique dealer: Due to the civil war in Myanmar, locals in Mandalay were in need of money in 2023. They exchanged family heirlooms with antique brokers for cash. These beads are petrified wood, with a hard texture that cannot be easily carved. Under UV light, the white inlaid lines exhibit a fluorescent reaction. What's particularly unique is that the white inlaid lines on these wood beads are a result of a second coloring process. While not the third generation of wood beads made in 1940, they are clearly old beads with significant age. These older pieces are becoming difficult to find. The retailer sells them individually in Taiwan for upwards of NT$1,000 each. 2. Six large Daron Mantra Beads from a collapsed pagoda in Mandalay, Myanmar. Dating from the 18th-19th century, based on accompanying artifacts excavated with the pagoda. These are Daron Mantra Beads in the form of prayer beads with holes. The material is a copper alloy containing gold, though not in high proportions. They have been polished to remove oxidation. The beads appear bright yellow when photographed, but will naturally oxidize and darken over time if not regularly handled. The average maximum diameter is between 1.1-1.2 cm. Typically, these prayer bead style mantra beads were originally strung as 108 beads within a pagoda. Due to the humid pagoda environment, the original cords have long since decomposed and broken. During the crafting of Daron Mantra Beads, cinnabar was melted together with the alloy. Possessing a powerful magnetic field, they are believed to suppress spirits and other negative entities, serving as excellent protective amulets and talismans for warding off evil and bringing good fortune. They have also been used in construction for foundations and creating protective boundaries. Today, some people use them for spiritual practice, meditation, placing them in home altars, or in cars to enhance feng shui and magnetic fields.
