Residing in Taiwan, they work diligently in an old apartment in Taipei, dedicating their life to creating and designing stamps. Previously an editor for magazines and books at publishing houses, Shami now focuses exclusively on stamp design. Each season, they release handmade original creation stamps, with eight published art collections featuring over 100 stamps. Their published books include "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stamp Carving: Next Stamp Class." Primarily using erasers as their carving material, each stamp is slowly and carefully carved with every stroke. Shami's stamp designs often draw inspiration from everyday life discoveries, landscapes and encounters from travels, and things they deeply cherish (such as text, flowers and plants, geometric shapes, nature, and architecture). These elements are then deconstructed and reassembled, employing multi-point lines and planes, minimalist primary and secondary lines, foreign text, and everyday symbols to compose the stamp imagery. They enjoy coordinating stamps with colors, combining individual and collaborative patterns of various sizes, and exploring repetition. Many graphic designs also originate from fragments of stamps, extended through layering and arrangement (e.g., postcards and washi tape).
