In this experiential class you will learn to handle the very special gummy wax (a branded gel wax imported directly from Furano, Hokkaido). The bonbons can be made into black and white mono tone, or multi-colour; that requires a special skill too in order to make it blink like a crystal.
Then you will get to choose the lid, in which there's a bird, a shell and a scallop design. You will learn to apply a special dye onto it, the purpose is to mimic the effect of the beautiful hand-painted glass.
100ml of lamp oil for refill will be provided.
No prior experience in making candle or oil lamp is required.

Both the gummy wax and the lamp oil are directly imported from Japan.
The Gummywax has a high level of safety, having passed the Japan food additive standards, the standards of the Japanese Pharmacopeia and of the FDA (the Food and Drug Administration in the US).
The lamp oil is indeed a liquid candle that does not harden at room temperature. The core thread sucks up the liquid and burns it. Unlike alcohol and kerosene, it is less flammable and less volatile and can be used with confidence.
No smoke or odor is emitted, and the bottom of the tube does not get hot.
10ml of lamp oil is good for 1 hour of burning.
The imported wick will last long as it has a fibreglass core. Initial adjustment of the wick before lighting is important. The wick should protrude about 2-5mm above the wickholder. This will give you a very good smokeless, odourless flame.
To prevent fire and serious injury, the oil lamp should be lit within sight. Always keep away from drafts & vibrations, keep out of reach of children and pet. Never lit the oil lamp on or near anything that can catch fire.
