If the colored surface of the titanium is brushed off, revealing the original color, it is not a coating. Initial steaming or cooking, or food stains or large purple-blue patches appearing after washing, or brown patches appearing after washing without heating (not rust, pure titanium does not rust) are inherent metallic properties and do not affect safety. These will fade over time with normal use or disappear on their own. 2. Direct flame from a gas stove or use in an oven above 250°C may cause purple-blue color changes.
