Cooked Food Center
The diversity of food culture has led to the continuous development of various food spaces, deducing the vitality unique to Hong Kong.
In the 1970s, the public market of the Municipal Council was gradually transformed and incorporated into a part of the multi-purpose municipal building. The Chai Wan Market, which was completed in 1978, was the first to have cooked food stalls; the Goose Neck Market, which was completed the following year, became the first public indoor market to have a cooked food centre.
The cooked food center has a variety of specialties, taking the civilian route, just like moving the old food stalls indoors. A lively atmosphere combined with unique flavors is more appealing than formulaic mall chains or food courts.
